Going back to school. Covering our children in Prayer.
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer! It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming the sunshine, and now, in the blink of an eye, we're gearing up for a new school year. When I was younger, I’d hear my parents say how fast time flies, and now as a parent, I totally get it!
As our little ones head back to school, my heart is full of prayers for their safety - spiritually, physically, and mentally. The world seems to be changing faster than ever, and not always in ways that give us peace. The education our kiddies receive now comes with new challenges, and it’s clear things aren’t the same as when we were younger.
That’s why we as parents feel it’s so important than ever to cover our children in prayer. As they start another year of learning, we pray for their safety, encouragement, and wisdom - not just for them, but also for their teachers who guide them and the heads of the schools. Once school begins, our kids spend a big part of their day navigating the world on their own. Naturally, we can worry (I do!) about how they’ll handle peer pressure, challenges, and messages that don’t align with our values. So how do we prepare them to face the world without us by their side?

Praying for Our Children
Let’s keep our kids in prayer every day. Ask God to protect them, give them strength to stand by their beliefs, and guide them in making good decisions. Pray that they shine as lights in the world with wisdom and discernment beyond their years.
Preparing Our Children
As my husband and I think about our children heading back to school/preschool, we feel it also important to prepare them to face the world with confidence. I don't know about you but I so need the Lord's wisdom as to how to help them on this front. Working on keeping communication open so they feel safe coming to us with anything. This is my hope and prayer! Teaching them right from wrong with still keeping their innocence reminding them of their worth in Yeshua, teaching them to seek God’s guidance, knowing He’s always with them, even when I can’t be.
Sending Them Off with Confidence
As the first day of school approaches, it's normal to feel a mix of emotions—excitement for the new experiences they'll have, missing them and also concern for what they may encounter. Trust that the same God who watches over them during the summer will continue to do so during the school year.
Let's cover our little ones in prayer daily, equip them with the tools they need, and then send them off with confidence. The world may be changing, but God's love and protection remain constant.
So as we pack those backpacks and prepare those lunch boxes, let's also prepare their hearts and minds for the year ahead. May the Lord keep them safe, guide them in truth, and fill them with courage as they step into this new year of school.

Homeschooling
Do you homeschool? It is something that I've been thinking about more recently. I'd love to hear your experience, thoughts and what you follow/how you do it if so.
Blessings to you all!
Olivia
